Our Story

At KR Dance, we are dedicated to helping aspiring dancers achieve their dreams through a blend of classical technique and contemporary styles. Our renowned standards and successful alumni highlight our commitment to nurturing artistry, discipline and character in every dancer.

KR Dance was founded by Kathryn, who grew up in Ponsanooth before training full-time at the Royal Academy of Dance in London. After gaining her Licentiateship of the RAD (LRAD) and building a career in teaching, she returned home to Cornwall to establish a school that combined world-class ballet training with the warmth of a local community.

Later, Kathryn was joined by Amely and Clare also from the local area and fellow RAD graduates with the same highly respected Licentiateship. Like Kathryn, they began their dance journeys here in Cornwall before training at the RAD in London and together they now bring decades of teaching experience back to the communities where they first discovered their love of ballet.

Now back in their home county, the team run KR Dance — a friendly, welcoming school offering ballet and lyrical classes for ages 3 to 80+. With a shared passion for both excellence and enjoyment, they are proud to provide a place where dancers of all ages can feel inspired, supported and connected  all while rooted in the heart of Cornwall.
